Sonika Johri
Founder & CEO
Sonika Johri has authored 40+ peer-reviewed publications, with recent research focusing on algorithms and software for quantum computers, and frameworks for quantum benchmarking. Prior to founding Cascade Quantum, Dr. Johri was a Principal Researcher at IonQ, where she led a team working on quantum applications R&D for clients ranging from startups to Fortune 500 companies, and before that had a stint working at Intel Corporation as a senior quantum algorithms scientist. Dr. Johri holds a PhD in theoretical condensed matter physics from Princeton University.
Thomas Lubinski served as the founding chair of the QED-C Standards and Performance Metrics Technical Advisory Committee, leading efforts to develop application-oriented performance benchmarks for quantum computers. He founded the leading open-source repository on application-oriented performance benchmarks for quantum computers. He was awarded the second annual Carl Williams Award for supporting the QED-C’s standards-related efforts. He also serves as Senior Technical Advisor at Quantum Circuits Inc., where he previously held the position of Chief Software Architect. Previously, Thomas founded SL Corporation, which became a market leader in Real-Time Process Monitoring and Control Systems software across multiple industries.

Michael Kubal
Advisor
Mike Kubal has worked at the intersection of biology and technology for 20 years with a focus on helping companies launch products and services leveraging omics data and bioinformatics workflows. Since early 2025 he has collaborated with the talented Cascade Quantum research community on building quantum applications that unlock novel biology hidden in the non-linear, higher order interactions of large multimodal data sets. He earned an M.S. in Computer Science from the University of Chicago.
